Welcome to our comprehensive guide on setting up AstroVPN at the router level! By following these easy steps, you'll be able to extend the protection and benefits of AstroVPN to your entire home network. Safeguard all your devices and bypass censorship seamlessly across the board. Let's get started on the simple process of connecting various router brands/vendors to our service. Enjoy enhanced online security and unrestricted access to all your devices with ease!

Asus Brand Routers

Our service is supported on and compatible with the following models: RT-N66U, RT-AC56U, RT-AC66U, and RT-AC68U. Let's get started!

  1. Please login to your router using its mobile app or the web browser interface (which we'll use in this demonstration). Common Asus router addresses include:

  2. Once you have logged in, please click "VPN" on the left-side menu under the "Advanced Settings" menu.

  3. Click "VPN Client" from the tab at the top of the page.

  4. Click the "Add Profile" button and then select "OpenVPN" on the popup window.

  5. Now you can click the "Select File" button, and select the desired AstroVPN location file you desire. It is recommended that you connect your router to the closest location we offer to you for the best results (in terms of speed and latency). You will need to select the ".ovpn" file we provide you.

    1. You can give the server any "Description" you like.

      1. Some AstroVPN servers (such as our traditional VPN service) require a username and password. Please be sure to enter those as shown above before connecting or you will receive an authentication error.

      2. Other servers of ours (such as those that bypass China and other regions) may not require a username and password at all.

  6. Finally, you'll be able to click the "Connect" button on the VPN Client you just created. You'll know if your connection worked by checking for a checkmark in the "Connection Status" column.

Other Router Vendors

Our support and engineering teams are working on creating guides for other router vendors, such as Netgear, Linksys, TP-Link, and MikroTik. Stay tuned for future guides, and if you are looking for immediate help getting AstroVPN working on a device of yours don't hesitate to reach out to our support team via live chat or email.
